Here are some of my favorite ways to make a little extra dough at the moment.
Open a Wealthfront Cash Account
They literally pay you interest to hold your money. It’s a savings account, just like at your current bank. But Wealthfront will pay you more than anyone else at the moment to put your money in their savings account. It’s. Literally. Free. Money. Set up that rainy day fund and watch it grow each month.
Amazon Mechanical Turk
I know, weird name, probably never heard of it, but its not a trick? Its actually a survey site created by Amazon. Amazon Mechanical Turk will pay you to take surveys and other jobs you can do right from your computer. Even better, the money you make is easy to track because your account is already integrated into your Amazon profile.
Thank gosh for Amazon.
Buy Stocks That Will Pay You
I’m talking dividends folks. By owning certain dividend paying stocks you are paid a small portion of what the company earns, usually every three months. Free money for owning shares in a company. Talk about passive income.
If you want to get started with dividend investing check out Acorns. It’s a beginner friendly app that can help you get started with investing using just your smartphone.
Play With Dogs and Make Money With Rover
Rover is the Airbnb of pets. It’s the ultimate resource for busy pet owners. They offer sitting, boarding, and drop-in visits for dogs and cats, as well as doggy daycare and dog walking services.
You set your own schedule, rates, size limitations, and whether you want to watch pets in their owners homes or your own.
Pet sitters and walkers typically charge between $20-$40 a night and $20-$30 per walk, talking home 80% while Rover takes only 20%.
Getting paid to play with dogs and cats? Sounds like a win win.
Install A Few Apps
Companies will pay you to install their apps and leave them there. These apps often run in the background and track your spending habits and if you don’t care who knows what groceries you’re buying this week then look no further because this is seriously easy.
Nielson Computer and Mobile Panel. Nielson will literally pay you $50 a year to just install their app and keep it on your phone. Seriously free money. No joke.
Ibotta. One of the newest apps in the cash back market. Ibotta will give you cash back on thousands of grocery store items from places like Whole Foods, Giant, Walmart and CVS. All you have to do is select the item you want and then take a picture of your receipt and Ibotta will take care of the rest depositing your cash within 48 hours.
